UPE uses a mixed format for all
PRIZE MONEY ADVANCED divisions. There is a pool play section, that feeds into bracket play based upon results from pool play. There is a four match guarantee for all advanced divisions. The exact details regarding the number of pools and bracket play format is dependent on the number of entrants.
UPE uses a double elimination bracket format for all OPEN divisions. There is a three match guarantee. Players that lose both of their first two matches will get an extra match in order to satisfy the three match guarantee.
United Pickleball Experience provides 3 different tournament levels: 300, 600, and 1000. Similar to professional tennis, the higher the number of the event, the more UPE Tournament points and prize money is awarded to players. UPE 300 events have a maximum of 300 Tournament Points that can be won by winning the event. The same is true for UPE 600 and UPE 1000 events, respectively. The UPE Tournament Points are used in calculating the Official UPE Rankings, located here. These rankings will determine priority entry into major events, as well as crowning the United Pickleball Experience Year-End Champion. Additionally, there will be Men’s and Women’s singles divisions in UPE 1000 events.
